Gasan District Jail

It is a one (1) story-building constructed and funded by the BJMP and the lot was donated by the Municipal Government of Gasan Marinduque. It is located at San Jose Street, Brgy. Uno, Gasan, Marinduque, within the vicinity of Gasan Municipal Police station and BFP station.
The construction started from 1997 until 1999 and was inaugurated on 25 1500H June 1999 attended by Hon. Mayor Carmencita O. Reyes, Rev. Father Sancho Sartillo, J/SSUPT VERGILIO N. TENEBRO, Assistant Regional Director RBJMP-4, Municipal Mayor Ulysses Ituralde and Director of BJMP, Ret. Police Maj. AQUILINO G. JACOB, Jr. It is a permanent structure with a total floor area of 42 sq. meter and a total land area of 240 sq. meter.
It has two (2) cells with a toilet inside with lighting facilities and with sufficient supply of water. Personnel is equipped with four (4) 9mm caliber pistol, five (05) pro-baton and four (04) handcuffs. At present the installation has (8) eight detainees and being manned by four (4) BJMP personnel.
Santa Cruz District Jail

Santa Cruz District Jail is a single story-facility located at Gomez St. Barangay Maharlika, Santa Cruz, Marinduque, a donated lot of the Municipality of Santa Cruz, Marinduque, by virtue of Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No.174-98 on 23rd of February 1999, with a total lot area of One Hundred Seventeen Square Meters and Sixty Centimeters (117.60 sq meters). It has a floor area of 55.04 square meter with three (3) cells with toilet. It was turned-over and inaugurated on January 13, 2000. Former Santa Cruz Municipal Jail is located at the right wing of the old Municipal building of Santa Cruz, Marinduque. On October 13, 1994, Sta. Cruz and Torrijos Municipal jails were clustered into a District jail pursuant to a Memorandum from the chief, BJMP with the head office at Santa Cruz, Marinduque.
Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL) from the Municipality of Sta. Cruz and Torrijos, Marinduque are the clientele of this detention facility. Ongoing trial, awaiting final judgement or transfer to other facility/institution and serving sentence. At present, this unit has zero detainee.
The jail facility has inadequate ventilation and limited space to properly carry out its mandate. Relocation and construction of a new and bigger detention facility is highly recommended. It is manned by four (4) jail officers, three (3) of which are male and one (1) female. Personnel are equipped with four (4) 9mm caliber pistol, seven (7) pro-baton, six (6) handcuffs and one (1) BJMP Transport Vehicle. The local government unit (LGU) shoulders the electricity and water bills and provided a solar source of energy to the jail station to mitigate its ventilation and lighting problem in times of power failure which is frequent in the locality.
Boac District Jail

Boac District Jail is located at Tanza, Boac Marinduque with floor area of 56 square meters and land area approximately 100 square meters. This jail has an operational and administrative jurisdiction over inmates/detainees with cases under the Municipal Trial Court of Boac and Mogpog, because the town of Boac and Mogpog is being clustered to “BOAC DISTRICT JAIL”. In front of this unit is the Marinduque Provincial Jail and beside is the Department of Agrarian Reform Office.
This jail unit was formerly known as Boac Municipal Jail which is located at the ground floor of the old Boac Municipal Building adjacent to the PNP station, with a floor area of approximately 26 square meters which was composed of two (2) cells. It was manned and operated by the PNP under the supervision of SPO4 Ruben M Jalotjot. On 27 September 1993, in pursuant to the provision of RA 6975, the former warden SPO4 Ruben M Jalotjot turned –over the operation and administration control of Boac Municipal Jail to the BJMP. On 21 January 1997, when the judicial jurisdiction of the town of Mogpog and Boac were clustered Boac Municipal Jail changed its name to Boac District Jail wherein it was manned and controlled by four (4) BJMP personnel under the supervision of SJO4 Prisco J Montales, the first designated warden of Boac District Jail. On 30 March 1998 BJMP allotted a budget for the construction of Boac District Jail. The Mayor of Boac thru the Sanguniang Bayan passed a resolution donating 100 square meters of land located at Brgy. Tanza, Boac, Marinduque. The construction started on 17 December 1998 and finished on 30 March 1999 with a floor area of 56sqm, and it was inaugurated on 06 May 1999 wherein it was attended by BJMP Director MAJ GEN AQUILINO G JACOB Jr., ARD of RBJMP4 J/SSUPT VIRGILIO N TENEBRO, Vice Mayor Dante J Marquez, Gov. Carmencita O Reyes and Boac Municipal Officers. The 100 square meter of lot where the main building was located were donated by the LGU of Boac through Sangguniang Bayan Resolution. The lot title at present were still on process. The main building and innovations in this jail facility were funded by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
It has three (3) cells having its own toilet. Personnel is equipped with six (6) 9mm caliber pistol, one (1) M16 riffle, six (6) Probatons and (6) handcuffs. At present, this jail has three (3) detainees and being manned by six (6) BMP personnel.
